Celebrate!

Looking forward to watching my son and daughter in love dedicate our grandson, Asher, to Jesus!
Asher's name means happy, blessed and fortunate and yes this Grammy agrees his life offers all that and more to each one of us that know and love him! Just check out the "likes" he receives on Facebook when one of us post a picture of him!

My heart is so full after years of watching both of our sons as they grew into responsible God loving men with beautiful spirit filled wives. No Jesus following parent could ask for more!

You see, it wasn't until I was given the gift of a child that I began the journey of seeking a body of like minded folks to do life with. We began in a Baptist church as that is all I had known as a child. My husband grew up in a Catholic Church so eventually, after the wise and encouraging words of the Baptist Pastor, to be unified as a couple in a church body, we went to check out my husbands childhood church. We spent 9 years there growing in our love for Jesus and in our love for others. The problem was "others" didn't gather outside of Sunday services together at this church. Little did I know at the time, I was wired for community and that's why I desired it. We are so better together in living out life's journey alongside of others!

So, we began to look around at other church bodies. Many gathered together, many didn't. Then one awesome day, we were invited by a friend to witness her daughter's baptism. The cool part is it was in a pond outside on a beautiful parcel of land owned by a fellow church member. I felt something like I'd never felt before...as did my husband! Shall we say the rest is history once we realized that "feeling" was God Himself guiding us through His Spirit in us to right where He wanted us! A place to live out loving Jesus and loving others that He had planned for us individually and as a family! Now 19 years later, I'm about to watch one of my son's dedicate his son. For me, that is a most important step in our grandson, Asher becoming a follower of Jesus!  Woo Hoo, that is a great reason to celebrate!

I'm so thankful for these friends in our lives who continue to love God and to love others while doing life together. The more of us who promise to pray for one another and to share Jesus's love with one another then that many more of us will come to know and to love Jesus! Woo Hoo again!!

Forgetter

As I read Exodus 14:14 today, I had one of my many ah ha moments.

I have them often as I hear God speak to me through His Word.  The problem for me lies in that, I forget.

 I'm a classic forgetter!

Moses had much to be thankful for, I'm pretty sure he wasn't a forgetter.  He had an amazing recovery from a basket in the water by the daughter of the one who wanted him killed.  An innocent baby killed.

Not much has changed in the 21st century, people still killing people whether it be physically or emotionally. Isn't that why I'm a forgetter? I let others kill me emotionally and lose my train of thought and direction.

Thankfully, only temporarily because God gives me ah ha moments as I read His Word.

" The Lord will fight for me, I only have to be silent. "  Ah Ha
